Meet Dr. Zein Obagi

As a world-renowned leader and pioneer in skin health, our board-certified master dermatologist, Dr. Zein Obagi, has dedicated 30+ years of his career to skin care. He has treated men and women with common skin problems and even the most challenging skin conditions with his experience, innovative techniques, quality products, and more. His mission has been to give his patients — not only confidence — but a better quality of life. With three decades of clinical experience, Dr. Obagi established the ZO Skin Centre^® with revolutionary skin care treatments and the ZO^® Skin Health line of products that use cutting-edge technologies and ingredients to dramatically advance the health and condition of the skin. His unique ZO^® Skin Health Circle™ is intended to work with each skin tone and type so all patients can obtain healthy, luminous skin with his therapeutic approaches, maintenance protocols, and prevention strategies.

Specialties and Skills

It is no secret that Dr. Obagi wants all of his patients of all ages and ethnicities to enjoy beautiful, healthy skin that gives them more confidence. Throughout his life-long career, Dr. Obagi has continued to seek out new techniques, more advanced technologies, and more effective formulas for his skin care lines. He has fine-tuned the science of skin care through these special skills and research. Dr. Obagi authored the book, The Art of Skin Health Restoration and Rejuvenation: The Science of Clinical Practice, a medical textbook on skin health. He currently holds five U.S. patents for skin repairing devices and techniques. Dr. Obagi's line of products includes ZO^® Skin Health for daily skin care and ZO^® Medical for prescription and in-office skin care.

Education and Training

After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from Damascus Medical School, Dr. Obagi fulfilled his internship requirements at Deaconess Hospital in Detroit, MI. Then, he was accepted into a residency in pathology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. While Dr. Obagi was a United States Navy Medical Officer serving in Honolulu, HI, he finished a dermatology residency at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA. He was also a staff dermatologist in Long Beach, CA.

"Today I started my journey with Dr. Obagi's products. As I suffer from acne till this day, I am hesitant to see results and my money's worth for what I paid. I did feel a bit on edge today because I felt like I did not receive enough attention during my consultation. It felt rushed and I felt put aside and I am not too happy about that. I would not recommend anyone to seek this facility for help regarding acne. I started off with moderate almost nothing on my face (just pigmentation and scars) after using the products (long list of them almost about 10 products) my face began to break out and turn red almost purple. They follow the philosophy of worse before better; which does not coincide with my way of thinking. I stopped using the products after two months and now my face is full of scars and the redness remains.I would not recommend this place at all. Save your money, your time and your skin. Reply to Obagi:Thanks !!! Now I have severely damaged skin and it will never look the same thanks to your products. They all damaged and burned my skin. Save your money !!!"

I contacted Kristy at ZO Skin Centre in Newport Beach who was very helpful and was able to set up a virtual consultation with Dr. Obagi since I live in Texas. The consult went great and he placed me on a new skin regime to help diminish my dark spots and make my skin look brighter and younger!
